2009 Changes to your ODS value-added services

As part of our ongoing effort to make sure we’re providing our members and groups with the most innovative, effective programs, we are beginning to phase out the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) as of July 1, 2009, and introducing WorldDoc 24/7 to certain members.

When are these changes happening?

As of July 1, 2009, ODS will no longer offer the EAP service to new groups of any size, and to existing small groups (50 or smaller). On that same date, WorldDoc 24/7 will be available via myODS to ODS members who have ODS pharmacy insurance. Large groups (51+) will continue to have the EAP through their renewal date and the EAP will continue to be available to ODS Advantage Medicare members through Dec. 31, 2009.

What is the difference between WorldDoc and EAP?

The EAP is an assistance program that helps employees cope with emotional and workplace concerns. Some of the services included are face-to-face counseling, onsite trainings and consultation for managers. WorldDoc 24/7 is an interactive, web-based health management system provided to ODS members. The personalized health tools and information on WorldDoc 24/7 can help members improve their health and make more informed healthcare decisions.

What if my group wants to continue using EAP?

If your group would like to continue the Cascade Center EAP without interruption, they can purchase this program directly from Cascade Center at a discounted rate bycalling 800-433-2320 or e-mailing . For more information, please visit Cascade's website.

What happens if an ODS member who’s group coverage in the EAP ends in June calls Casecade Center in late June to schedule an appointment?

ODS is working with Cascade Centers EAP to make this a smooth transition for all of our members who currently use EAP. Cascade Centers will honor all appointments for ODS members who call and schedule their appointment before the last day of their group’s coverage. ODS will also be posting notifications about the end of this program on myODS to make our members aware of this change.

Who will be receiving WorldDoc 24/7?

Any ODS member who has ODS Rx as part of their insurance will have access to WorldDoc 24/7 through myODS starting July 1, 2009.

Why do only ODS pharmacy members have access to WorldDoc?

Our relationship with WorldDoc is a correlation of our relationship with our pharmacy provider, MedImpact. As such, only ODS members who have pharmacy coverage are eligible to access WorldDoc. However, many useful health tools are still available to our non-pharmacy members on myODS.
